Text: First Day of my Life (Bright Eyes)

Narrative:

• A group of people are brought together, each take a turn of listening to the song on a couch, through headphones.
• Lone man (x2), young couple, a family of three, another couple, gay couple, another couple (x3), a woman with the image of her husband? (possibly away or dead?), another couple (x2), lone elderly woman, couple, lone man, transvestite couple, gay couple, dog, pregnant woman, couple, lone man, elderly women, couple (x3), family of three, couple (“i love her”)

Camera Shots:

• First 15 seconds: Close ups and medium shots of the old music player and the people in the music video all in a room socialising. Medium shots of couples together and close ups of smiling faces. 
• Afterwards: Various shots ranging from medium shot to medium close up of people seated on the couch. Some group shots, of two or three people, depending on if they’re listening with others or alone. A representation of many different people. 

Representation of Character:

• Alone people: A lone man seems sad because of the song, he is lonely. A different lone man seems to find satisfaction in the song, he is happy. A lone woman with an image of a man seems calm listening to the song, as if she is remembering the good times she had with him. Lone elderly woman seems calm but it is clear that she is lonely and misses her other half. A single to-be-mother sits alone, pressing a headphone to her stomach. Where’s the father? 
• Couples: All couples, be they homosexual, heterosexual, transvestite, multicultural etc, are all happy, together. They hold each other’s hands or show loving gestures towards each other. Families sit together smiling as they listen with their child.
• Dog: Adds a humorous side to the video, dog does not understand what is going on, simply lays on the couch. “If you want to be with me” implies the dog needs company. 

Colour Schemes:

• Natural colours with some neutral, some vibrant, depending on the people who are seated on the couch and what their personality is like.
• Various items in the background include colours such as red, yellow, cream, brown and silver, possibly with the intention of showing variety and homeliness.  

Editing:

• An old film effect has been placed over some of the footage, as if it is an old archive.
• The bad camera quality appears to be intentional as it’s as if it was all filmed like a home movie.
• Multiple jump cuts between characters show the wide variety of couples and single people there are in the world, while keeping it fast paced with a steady rhythm.
